Of a Topographical Nature is a highly textured exhibition. The work evokes
associations with terrain, of maps navigable by touch. Artists are encouraged to apply
variety, contrast, motifs and other aspects of collage composition to the primary
aspect of texture. It may be additive or built-up in the way of relief collage. It may be
subtractive, revealed by excavation. Whether or not the composition is visually
evident in the language of light and shadow, it is physically active when experienced
by touch. Both 2D and 3D pieces are welcomed.
The exhibition coincides with the third Collage-O-Rama event in Seattle, a collage
celebration where people make art and make friends.
